Down Under At Last!

Brisbane

This was my first day in Australia. I was going to spend a week or so in my brother Dave's flat (actually more of a riverside apartment) in the district called Kangaroo Point. The flat overlooked the Brisbane River, directly opposite the Central Business District (CBD, i.e. the city centre).

It was raining and overcast. Superb! I had travelled to the other side of the world, only to face typical British weather. Dave made the usual claim that you get from people who live in allegedly warm places - it was a lot better last week, honest - but I'm not convinced. Apparently, today was the last day of winter, so it can only get better!

The Brisbane CBD by night, as seen from Dave's flat on the other side of the Brisbane River. Superb view, although I really need to get myself a tripod for those night shots...
