Trains, Planes and People Who Look Vaguely Like Soap Stars
Dee from 'Neighbours': One of the Virgin Blue stewardesses looked a bit like her, but was in fact
someone else.
Virgin Blue
I (just about) caught the Virgin Blue
plane from Brisbane to Sydney. It was a 90-minute flight - a little better than a 12-hour train trip, I feel.
The weather was clear on the way down, so I could get a good
view out of the window. Sea, mountains, flat bits. That's essentially it... It's probably
just as well that I didn't go on the train.
Sydney trains
To get from Sydney Airport to the city centre,
you can go on the train. They have double decker passenger trains here.

Sydney Central Station. A view of the side of one
of the newer double-decker trains. At each end of the coach (i.e. between the doors
and the end) there is a single level of seats, with enough room for luggage, etc.
In between each door there is a double-deck section. You either go down some stairs
or up some stairs to reach your preferred deck. Upstairs was probably better... |

one of the older double-deck trains. |
Think I might have to have another go on them!
